New single on Friday 4/28! (And more!)

We have a new single that comes out on Friday 4/28! You can pre-save it at this link.

I’ve recently been able to make some space in my life to learn new things, and mixing is one of them! This is the first Hello Emerson song that I took lead mix engineer role on, supported by great and talented collaborators and friends. It’s called, “Forever Stamps.”

We are playing a single release show at Rambling House in Columbus on Sunday 4/30. Tickets here.

We are playing with Toledo’s folk hero, Ben Stalets. He might even bring his dog! It is a full band show for us — so consider joining. Doors are at 7, music at 8 — so you can be at home in bed by 10PM!

We are approaching social media as a science project at the moment. Feel invited to check out @helloemersongs on TikTok and YouTube (but only if you want!)

I am more comfortable when I don’t interact with social media so much, but I am exploring ways to make it work for me as an individual. Right now, I am recording song covers at home on Mondays as an opportunity to live inside songs that I love, find out what makes them tick, play different instruments, edit videos, and do some basic mixing. I am making these videos and covers primarily because it is deeply good for me; as a bonus, we can share some of them! Full videos will end up on YouTube and the blog, and then get scrobbled out to Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.

I’m thankful for friends and collaborators and the space to grow in our own ways and on our own terms, keeping the algorithm at arms length, but not ignoring it altogether. I am sometimes uncomfortable, but that also means that I am growing. And I love to grow nearly as much as I love songs.

Songs always,

Sam
